For the second year in a row, Skyline volunteers spent a day in September helping to set up the annual Wellington Warrior Challenge at Cox Creek Cellars, just north of Guelph. The Challenge is a grueling 6-km run and obstacle course that is a challenge at any fitness level. Organized by the Canadian Cancer Society, the Challenge saw over 200 participants this year, and raised over $20,000 for cancer research.

Skyline volunteers spent the morning setting up registration and food stations, as well as actual obstacles out on the 6-kilometre course, such as climbing walls and barbed wire to be crawled under.  The course also included three ponds, and kilometre after kilometre of tough, muddy terrain through the dense forest of the Cox Creek property. After lunch, volunteers bravely acted as “guinea pigs” and ran the course themselves, in order to give feedback for the upcoming event. As per last year, it was an exhilarating experience for the whole Skyline team!
