Financial Analyst

Skyline is now hiring a  Financial Analyst.

The Financial Analyst will report directly to the CFO working out of the head office located in Guelph, Onatio and will be responsible to accurately perform all Financial Analyst functions as well as assist the CFO with various Finance related tasks.  All duties and responsibilities pertain to Skyline and its group of companies.

·             Excellent finance and accounting skills

·             Knowledge of mortgages, amortization schedules, interest rate sensitivity analysis

·             Basic knowledge of investment markets

·             Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

·             Strong communication skills (written and oral)

·             Ability to multi-task and problem solving.

·             Sound judgment and innovation.

·             Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

·             PC skill requirements as follows:

·              Moderate Skills in Word

·              Advanced Skills in Excel

·              Regular use of e-mail/web

·              Yardi and Salesforce experience an asset

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

To include the following (other duties may be assigned):

 

  • Property level financial analysis for mortgage underwriting
  • Consolidated financial analysis for investment underwriting
  • Aid in the preparation of mortgage financing requests for ‘tender’
  • Aid in the preparation of Offering Memorandums or Prospectuses
  • Analysis of Investment (and Investor) trends
  • Processing of EFT payments for investor distributions
  • Processing of Wire Transfers for realty deposits
  • Reconciliation of securities processing with regulatory filing requirements
  • Assist the IR department in peak flow times (if necessary)
  • Financial analysis and evaluation of Skyline Apartment REIT portfolio’s key indicators and ratios (LTV, DSR, Yield, CF/Unit)
  • Financial analysis on the Skyline Group of Companies

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Two to three years post secondary education or 5 years equivalent workplace experience writing and preparing professional financial reports.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels of the organization.  Ability to speak and write effectively in English.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct subordinates; however you will be required to manage and balance multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
