Mary and Edgar's warmth and caring style has made residents feel that there's someone "in their corner", someone that will ensure that they are safe, someone that will check to make sure they're alright, someone that is actually concerned for their welfare.  For the many seniors and/or those with limited mobility, this is a primary concern and it is critical that they feel they have someone to turn to in moments of crisis or even for those daily issues that seem like nothing much to most people but are a major undertaking when you are challenged in anyway.  Mary and Edgar have become that "rock" and are the pivotal force in this complex.  All of their many initiatives from simple card games to the more elaborate events have not only created wonderful opportunities for interaction, but have allowed residents to feel that Grand Central is truly their home and that they are part of a lovely community!
