Ribbon cutting at Ikea Grand Opening in Windsor

Stefan Sjostrand, President of Ikea and Drew Dilkens, Mayor of Windsor Cut the Ribbon at Ikea’s Grand Opening in Windsor

On Monday, April 4th, 2016, the Skyline Retail REIT property at 4115 Walker Road, Windsor, ON welcomed a new anchor tenant: an Ikea pick-up and order point location. News media were permitted to preview the store: an 850-square metre showroom that is essentially a live version of the Ikea website, where customers can see and touch the furniture before ordering. The preview was followed by formal remarks and a ribbon cutting with Stefan Sjostrand, President of Ikea Canada, and Mayor of Windsor Drew Dilkens. This Ikea location will employ 31 staff.

4115 Walker Road was Skyline Retail REIT’s first purchase in the city of Windsor, and totals 111,712 square feet of retail space.

“We welcome IKEA to Windsor,” said Mayor Drew Dilkens. “The IKEA brand has been an international favourite for years and having a store right here will provide our residents with another great reason to shop locally while also adding jobs to the local economy.”
