Skyline Volunteers Tough it Out at Wellington Warrior Challenge

A tired - but exhilarated - Skyline team after the Challenge

On September 18th 2013, Skyline volunteers spent a day in the September sunshine helping to set up the annual Wellington Warrior Challenge at Cox Creek Cellars just north of Guelph.

The Wellington Warrior Challenge is an annual Tough Mudder-style obstacle course that focuses not on speed & timing, but teamwork and camaraderie. The Challenge is organized by the Canadian Cancer Society, and has raised over $50,000 to date.

Skyline spent the morning setting up registration and food stations, as well as actual obstacles out on the 6-kilometre course. While some obstacles were man-made (tire flip, balance beams, climbing walls), others included three ponds and a mud pit, and kilometre after kilometre of tough terrain in the heavily forested area of the Cellars property.

After lunch, Skyline volunteers were honoured to do a full "test run" of the course, which was an amazing experience for the volunteer team.
